HONG KONG FILM PANORAMA 2013 @ EYE, Amsterdam

HONG KONG FILM PANORAMA 2013

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels, in co-operation with EYE Film Instituut Nederland, Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands, Hong Kong International Film Festival Society and the Netherlands Hong Kong Society, will present the 9th edition of the Hong Kong Film Panorama in Amsterdam. A total of nine Hong Kong films would be screened from 5 to 15 May 2013.

The program includes crime and action films, thrillers and mystery stories, starring  Hong Kong stars Andy Lau, Daniel Wu, Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung, etc. Director Ann Hui's A Simple Life, Oxide Pang Chun's B + jing taam , Jim Ho's Floating City, Great Magician and Overheard 2 are listed in the extensive program. All films are subtitled in Dutch except Overheard 2, Floating City and Great Magician in English.

To celebrate its newly release, Wong Kar-wai's martial arts epic covering the turbulent Chinese history, The Grand Master, will open the festival at the EYE on 6 May. From 9 to14 May, an exciting special program devoting to this renowned Hong Kong filmmaker will be on the screen. The titles are
Ashes of Time Redux (1994), Chungking Express (1994), Happy Together (1997) and In the Mood for Love (2000). Expect for one, all the films are from the EYE's collection.

Opening reception and screening of The Grandmaster “一代宗師” on Monday, 6 May 2013 at 18:30 hrs. This martial arts epic is directed by Hong Kong’s famous director Wong Kar-wai and stars multiple award-winning actor Tony Leung and actress Zhang Ziyi.
