For the very first time there will be an exhibition about Chinese Outsider Art in the Netherlands! The exhibition features multiple artwork by Chinese Outsider artists, as well as new pieces from the Dutch Outsider Art collection.

This international exchange is a joint project of The Dolhuys and the Chinese Federation for Disabled People with the artist Guo Haiping as curator for the Chinese artwork. Guo Haiping is the founding father of creative workshops where Chinese Outsider artists are able to create their work. His creative approach is raising awareness and interest for the Outsider Art genre in China and this awareness is giving a voice to a group of people struggling to find their place in society. Thus, the artwork being displayed in the Outsider Art Museum is of great significance for both artists and their families, as well as a sign of recognition of their work in the international art world.

With this exhibition, you as a visitor will have the unique opportunity to compare and admire Outsider Art from these two very different countries. The exhibition runs from the 24th of November 2016 until the 5th of June 2017 at the Outsider Art Museum.
