Europe and the European Union

The war in Ukraine, the climate crisis, the rise of populism, and migration are among the events with a worldwide impact that are currently on the agenda in Europe and the European Union (EU). These events underscore the importance of European collaboration. However, the belief in the EU is not self-evident.

To strengthen European cultural relations, highlight the significance of the EU as a community of shared values, and enhance opportunities for European artists, we have established a cross-EU/Europe thematic team. Through our (country) advisors, the DutchCulture | Creative Europe Desk NL, and our participation in various international networks, we are connected to numerous European partners.

We invest in reinforcing cultural collaborations within Europe and the EU. This is achieved through organising events and programs, such as the Forum on European Culture, often in collaboration with our partners.
