European Cultural Foundation launches the paper 'Kansen Benutten, Kansen Scheppen'

This paper explores the potential for the Dutch cultural sector to engage in European cooperation and shape future European cultural policy.

The Dutch government is in the process of reviewing its cultural policy and system. On 2 March, Gunay Uslu, State Secretary for Culture and Media, requested advice from the Dutch Council for Culture, which includes an international perspective on Dutch cultural policy and its infrastructure. The advisory document is scheduled to be published in November 2023. Concurrently, the government is also working on revising the policy framework for international cultural relations.

As a contribution to both processes, the European Cultural Foundation has produced a paper titled Kansen Benutten, Kansen Scheppen (Seizing Opportunities, Creating Opportunities). This paper explores the potential for the Dutch cultural sector to engage in European cooperation and shape future European cultural policy. It includes numerous practical examples, ranging from sustainability initiatives in the cultural sector to digital transformation and the promotion of sustainable development goals. The paper concludes with a series of recommendations and has been endorsed by various organizations, including DutchCulture.
