MoU signings to enhance Young Talents Exchange in Professional Film and Music Education between the Netherlands and China

Last week the major of Amsterdam visited Beijing in particular to celebrate the Amsterdam guest city program of the Beijing Design Week. A large delegation composed of designers and architects accompanied the mayor. To underline the broader and cultural agenda with Beijing, the delegation also included the director of the Netherland Film Academy, Mr. Bart Römer, and the director of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Ms. Janneke van der Wijk.

Mr. Bart Römer visited the Beijing Film Academy in the Animation Department, Sound Design Department and Cinematography Department, exchanging film educational idea with the Chinese peers.  A three years’ MoU was signed between the two top film schools to improve the communication and cooperation, which will enhance relations on a structural basis between the two universities and to develop academic and cultural exchanges in the area of higher education, research and other film activities.

At the same time, the delegation from Conservatorium van Amsterdam visited their counterpart, the Central Conservatory of Music. The director, Ms. Janneke van der Wijk, Signed the MoU with the CCOM to promote collegiality and academic fellowship between two institutions. The delegation also visited the conservatory central library, the Orchestra Instrument Department and Piano Department. During the delegation visit, the International Liszt Competition was working with the CCOM for a piano master class and recital piano concert. The president of CCOM, Mr. Wang Cizhao, expressed there had been many individual exchanges in music educational project between the Netherlands and China in past a few years. The signed official MoU will raise the cooperation to a new level to build up more music communication for professional young talents between the Netherlands and China.
